Commercial tenancy
NORMA currently represents a large number of established property companies and property managers, both listed and private. Our experience in the field means that we also have a good understanding of the commercial aspects of premises rental law issues.
The rules on renting premises have a wide scope, ranging from very large leases, such as the lease of large logistics facilities and the lease of retail premises in prime locations, to the lease of single garage spaces. This means that the rules are important to know for both large and small property owners.
The rules on renting premises are largely similar to the rules on leasing facilities, but there are also some important differences. For example, when it comes to security of tenure for a tenant of premises, it is more difficult to contract away than in the case of plant leases.
NORMA’s real estate group has extensive experience in handling all issues in the field of tenancy law – everything from drawing up and negotiating comprehensive leases, dealing with issues of allocation of responsibility for maintenance and damage to the premises, notices to vacate and for change of terms, forfeiture notices and cases in both the rent tribunal and court/arbitration proceedings. We often liaise with our Commercial dispute resolution team on lease disputes.
